Sell more books! Our custom author websites feature a compelling landing page that tells potential buyers about you and your book. We follow best practices for online sales and marketing, and include buttons so visitors can buy your book. To enhance the page, we add testimonials and reviews, and awards badges if you have them.
Build your email list so you can sell more books. We help you build your reader email list with simple tools for email capture. We’ll create a short excerpt of your book which readers can download in exchange for their email address–giving you the chance to stay in touch with them with news about your book launch, special offers, and more.

Pricing & Process
We charge a base rate of $2,450, which includes the conception and construction of a custom author website with all the features and services described above. If you have different or additional requests, we are happy to talk with you about adding features or pages. Call us for a free consultation. 510-684-2645.
There will also be some additional costs associated with the website that you’ll be responsible for and should consider:
- A domain or URL, which generally costs $10/year
- A “Hosting” package, which is essentially the place where your website lives on the internet. This will cost you between $10-$20 per month depending on the speed and security.
- Professional photo shoot. We recommend that you get a series of professional photos taken that you can use for promoting yourself and your book, in addition to helping us design your site.
How it works
Start by calling us to discuss your needs. If it sounds like we’ll be a good fit, we schedule a longer phone call to outline the scope of the project.
We’ll start by exploring the long term goals for you and your book. If you have other related endeavors, like coaching or consulting, we’ll integrate those as well. Once we get clear on the big vision, we’ll design the site accordingly and get moving on the design!your
Along the way, you’ll get natural marketing support. We started (and still work) as book marketers, so we’ll design the site based on our experience of “what works” to promote you and your book.
We are flexible and work with your publishing timeline to ensure you have what you need, when you need it. Our websites generally take 4-6 weeks from start to finish, depending on your needs and availability for reviews. If you need a website faster, let us know and we’ll see what we can work out.

My name is Joel Pitney, founder of Author Your Website. I’m also a writer, filmmaker, and book launch specialist. What is a book launch specialist? Simply put, I help authors with all aspects of getting their book out into the world, from cover design, to social media strategy, to marketing campaigns, and building websites. I learned to build websites in order to meet the specific needs of my author clients, and over the years I have developed a simple, effective, easy-to-use template for authors to spread the word about their work.
Laura Hartzell is my business partner. Bringing with her a background in journalism and nonprofit fundraising, and the experience of developing, launching, and directing a magazine ecommerce website, I’m lucky she joined Author Your Website in 2016. I am lucky enough to be partners with her in life as well.
